A UNIQUE DINNER
The composition and palette of the complex floral piece was inspired by Claude Monet's painting
"A Pathway in Monet's Garden" (Giverny, 1902) which gave the artist an idea of a Christmas Tree hung upside down.
For the table setting, Iris Xia carefully chose iconic Christofle silver vessels, red vintage-like glasses, and Chinese elements, such as red chopsticks. The artist created a genuinely unique tablescape: by fusing two traditions,
she opened a dialogue between two cultures at the festive table. As Iris Xia said:
"I attempt to subvert preconceptions of the Christmas atmosphere, creating something bold and strong using
European and Oriental traditions combined with more delicate arrangements."
